I think that both of these sources are going to be great contributors to your paper. The first one will add an outside perspective from another country that tried and succeeded with the solution that you’re proposing. The fact that there was already success may help convince others to want to put it into effect especially with the added fact that it actually increased their academic performance. The second source shows that it’s the getting started that is hard to do, but once it has, people will continue to want to do good and help others event if it is required. This may help administrators to see past the beginning protests by the students who claim that it is not a good idea because they have seen proof that in the end it will work out for the best. The only thing that I would add is a bit more length to both of these annotations, and maybe your own explanation on how this will add to your paper. Overall though, I think that you picked some excellent sources so far.
ReplyDeleteYour sources are very good and convincing. Like Clarissa said the first will be able to give an outside view on how other countries feel about volunteer work and how it might work here in the states. Also I feel that your second source provides evidence that when it comes to volunteer work how doing it earlier will instill it in the minds to continue doing it. I feel that it works like a habit, where if you make an effort to volunteer after a certain time you will be inclined to continue to do it. The only thing I feel that might be wrong with these articles are that they focus on high school students where your solution is for college level students. I would seek out sources or studies that show that it has the same effect on people who are older.
ReplyDeleteThese sources look very good and will work well into your essays overall thought. They look interesting as well as informative so you are getting both in one shot for each articles. As stated up above I agree that it will be very interesting to see how other nations around the world view volunteer work and if their youth really should or should not be taking an active role in it. Along with this you are now able to talk about all the benefits that go along with a volunteer service and what and how that changes a person into acting and seeing things differently which can ever more expand your papers effectiveness on its readers.
